at first i thought that they were crazy
When I first found this article about peeling bananas from the other end on BoingBoing, I thought the world had lost its mind (or, at least Mark, Kevin, Sean, and a few others)! But, you know that I had to try it out. All I have to say is OMFG! Why didn't anyone show me this years ago?!?!?! Unless a banana is over-ripe, peeling from the stem side can be an ordeal unless you have razor sharp fingernails (Cyn). But, from the other end, the peel just, well, peels away! Just as Kevin mentions on the BoingBoing post, it was a defining moment in my life… it shows me that I, without a doubt, have no life and am impressed by the simplest things. Still, it was amazing. I want another banana.
Damn. I forgot the coolest part!!! Opening the banana this way gives you a nice handle!
